This standard establishes the minimum Integrated Energy Efficiency Ratio (REEI) levels in cooling mode for unitary air conditioners (package units). It applies to self-contained air conditioners known as unitary type (package unit) in nominal cooling capacities greater than 19,050 W (65,000 BTU/h) and up to 70,340 W (240,000 BTU/h), with or without reversible cycle, air-cooled, electrically operated, that work by mechanical compression, which include a single-speed compressor (Fixed Capacity) or a variable refrigerant flow or frequency compressor (Proportionally Controlled Capacity) or a stepped speed compressor (Staged Capacity) and an air-cooled condenser coil.
