Policy Details

MELS for Split Type Air-Conditioners
Source
This policy applies to any single-phase non-ducted room air-conditioner (split type (inverter)) with a cooling capacity of 17.6 kW or lower and any single-phase non-ducted room air-conditioner (split type (non-inverter)) with a cooling capacity of 17.6 kW or lower.

COP (W/W) and Standby Power (W)

  • Single-split (non-inverter)

    • 1 tick: NA

    • 2 tick: COP100% ≥ 4.04

    • 3 tick: 4.29 ≤ COP100% < 4.86 and Standby power ≤ 18

    • 4 tick: COP100% ≥ 4.86 and Standby power ≤ 18

    • 5 tick: COP100% ≥ 5.50 and Standby power ≤ 4

  • Multi-split (non-inverter)

    • 1 tick: NA

    • 2 tick: COP100% ≥ 4.04

    • 3 tick: 4.29 ≤ COP100% < 4.86 and Standby power ≤ 9 x N

    • 4 tick: COP100% ≥ 4.86 and Standby power ≤ 9 x N

    • 5 tick: COP100% ≥ 5.50 and Standby power ≤ 7 x N

  • Single-split (inverter) (COP100, Weighted COP)

    • 1 tick: NA

    • 2 tick: Weighted COP ≥ 4.04 and COP100% ≥ 3.34

    • 3 tick: Weighted COP ≥ 4.29, COP100% ≥ 3.78 and Standby power ≤ 18

    • 4 tick: Weighted COP ≥ 4.86, COP100% ≥ 4.29 and Standby power ≤ 18

    • 5 tick: Weighted COP ≥ 5.50, COP100% ≥ 4.86 and Standby power ≤ 4

  • Multi-split (inverter) (COP100, Weighted COP)

    • 1 tick: NA

    • 2 tick: Weighted COP ≥ 4.04 and COP100% ≥ 3.34

    • 3 tick: Weighted COP ≥ 4.29, COP100% ≥ 3.78 and Standby power ≤ 9 x N

    • 4 tick: Weighted COP ≥ 4.86, COP100% ≥ 4.29 Standby power ≤ 9 x N

    • 5 tick: Weighted COP ≥ 5.50, COP100% ≥ 4.86 and Standby power ≤ 7 x N

COP100% is defined as the ratio of total cooling capacity to effective power input at full load cooling capacity
For split (inverter) type air-conditioners, the model shall meet both the minimum COP100% and weighted COP
Weighted COP = 0.4 x COP100% + 0.6 x COP
50%
N is the number of indoor and outdoor units
Standby power is expressed in Watts
