These criteria shall apply to washing machines for residential and similar applications with AC power supply characteristics. The rated voltage does not exceed 250 V for single-phase and not more than 480 V for three-phase including washing appliances that shake off water by centrifugation and can dry clothes in the same machine (dryer machine).
This policy excludes:
- Washing machines designed specifically for industrial applications,
- Washing machines used in special or abnormal conditions such as corrosive or explosive environments (due to gas, vapor, or dust) easily, and
- Two-tub washing machines

These criteria shall apply to microwave ovens that use electromagnetic energy in one or more ISM (industrial sciences medicine) frequency bands between 300 MHz and 30 GHz for heating food and beverages. Microwave ovens for residential use may not exceed a voltage of more than 250 volts.
